Curt Verschoor Ethics Feature of the Year
The IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) Committee on Ethics and Strategic Finance invite submissions for the Curt Verschoor Ethics Feature of the Year. The competition aims to highlight a written work that contributes to a greater understanding of ethics within the business environment for management accounting and finance professionals, whether through new research, insightful analysis of a real-world event or scenario, or practical solutions to the ethical challenges of the day.
General submission guidelines
Entries must follow the Strategic Finance editorial guidelines, including:
- The length should be approximately 2,500 to 3,000 words. The minimum length to be considered for publication is 2,000 words.
- It must be written in English and submitted in completed form for publication.
- The document must not be created using Generative AI.
- It must not have been previously published and must not be available to other publishers.
- All documents are sent through a blind review process. The author and co-author names must be removed from the submission. Names may be used in citations and other references if there is no indication that the person listed is also the document's author.
- Manuscripts and author biographies must be submitted in .doc or .docx format.
- Do not include a bibliography or list of resources with the article. If you directly reference a source, insert a hyperlink in the content to the website where the source is located.
- Remove all inline citations and footnotes. Include any source citations as hyperlinks to the source material.
- Include brief biographies for each author with your submission as a separate document.
The deadline for entries is September 1, 2026. All entries will undergo a double-blind review process for initial evaluation, followed by the final selection of the winner by the IMA Committee on Ethics in December 2026. The winning entry will be published in Strategic Finance in March 2027. In addition, the winning contributor(s) will have the opportunity to present their article on the Count Me In podcast.
